I'm just wondering why it's so popular, and did anyone really like it when it first came out in 1993?

thanks

I love it. I even watched "Corpse Bride" which is just as good. It's one great classic. Tim Burton is a genius. It's not the usual moviemaking where actors act out a scene and cameras just take the shots. It's like you have to position a figure from different angles and change their positions so slightly to take another shot...and another and another. When shots are placed together, and ran as a film strip, there would be a simulated movement. A rather painstaking job as compared to traditional film making with actors. I think somebody told me that such method is called 'marionation'. Simply amazing. Just my honest opinion

I didn't like it when it first came out. It still isn't a favorite of mine, but I think it is okay. I wasn't real big on the Corpse Bride either. I like all of Tim Burton's other work though.

I liked this movie very much. I remember when I first watched it in 6th grade during school. I did not watch it again though until I saw Big Fish just a few years ago.

I loved it when it first came out. I love all Tim Burton's work. His view of things appeals to me. Also, Danny Elfman is a musical genius and he helped pull the whole thing together for me.

I liked it then, and still do. The animation/stop motion is great and the songs are sufficiently creepy, as are the characters. A good movie.
