Seldom as I ask them, yes. I also comment if someone got something out of my answer, so I can thank them. I even look at comments on resolved answers for which I didn't get best, just to follow up. I was thinking of asking exactly this question! I noticed that some people, after choosing, just comment "OK" or "alright." Seems sort of--chopped off? Like, what did they really get out of it?

I do put a lot of comments in this Y!A Comment Box, but sorry to say that that very thing is the least utilized feature of this forum.

If the comments were sent to all the respondents automatically (or by choice) then this comment thing could have gained popularity and so many "Report Abuse" could have been resolved amicably, using this medium. This is my view and I have said this in a few occasion, without getting any reply from Y!AT.

Hope to see some comments for this Question, which may be a starting point for the respondent to make good use of this comment-box!

Btw, I do make it a point to comment if my Answer got a BA, mostly to thank the Asker and/or to add a few missing link/data.

:) Yes I do (or at least make an effort to do so though sometimes I might overlook something "by accident"), and sometimes I am pleasantly surprised that there's a message there. I take care to ask and answer questions with a personal touch to make these connections all the more meaningful. What others have to write is important to me. Sometimes I'll leave a note to that effect and though they may never know it, I am thrilled to receive their responses.

Hi Moon,
Yes I always try to check to see if there are any comments but because we don't always have time to click on every question I am sure there are some we all miss. I like the suggestion above that we should have emails sent when comments are posted. It would mean we get to notice them all, especially when others have taken the trouble to give some feedback.

After a year on this sight. I went back to one of my questions and discovered a comment that I wish I had seen sooner. I now go back periodically and see if comments have been made.

It is another chance to make Q and A a bit more personal. I like that about YA.

Yes I do when I am in my answers or questions I always check when I have the time it is nice to see that someone too the time out to comment after i have picked them as the chosen answer or others have commented but Time is always a problem so its hard to check every single one :)))

Well Moon, until a weeek ago, I didn't even know you could leave a message on the best answer. After I found out, I wondered if many would even look to see you had done that.
Maybe I should look to see if any did and answer my own question! LOL

Once in a great while. Far more often, I am moved to leave a comment when some troll has posted some garbage such as "Why do liberals hate America?" and then given best answer to a fellow troll, or himself, which said "Because they're losers!" -- "Great answer. Thanks."

That just cries out for some slapping.

I go back to the answers I have provided since I do not normally ask a lot of questions to see what good people are saying - "good" people like you!

I regularly look up my past Best Answers to closed Questions - to seek if anyone has left any comments, that deserve a 'Thank you', or need an explanatory reply !
