Will war ever go out of fashion?

Question

All this running around shooting at each other, destroying cities etc... We've been at it for hundreds of thousands of years. You would think given our intelligence this would have gone out of fashion by now. In wars people die no one wins. Even as the Islam has taught America no matter what you do either your troops or your citizens will be killed, your gear and buildings will be destroyed too. No one goes without cost (See 9/11). So I say for the only race on the Earth that has come so far, our sciences and intentions are very backward. We managed to go from village hard nut leader polilcy to king to democratic leader in politics but kept the war thing going. Something is seriously wrong here dont you think?

War means big money and for greedy governments it is a lucrative business. Look at Iraq, Cheney is raking it in by the "bush"el. That is their intrest and their backers.

One theory is that as we get more and more women leaders (not to the exclusion of male leaders, just an equal mix) we'll be less war-hungry. While women have a strong instinct to defend the "nest," and so won't be wimps against invaders, they are statistically less likely to take their fight out to others. If that theory holds water, maybe after another few generations war will become less likely... but for now, it's just a theory.

I never considered war a fashion statement, but as long man is alive, even if there are two of them left, they will fight!, therefore there will always be war, until everything is destroyed.

Humans seem to love getting into it easily but find the horrors and relities of war too much handle somehow.

besides the fact that humans are not a peaceful species, there is BIG MONEY in war. look at what its costing the american tax payer to support the war in iraq. somebody is raking in the bucks

War isn't fashion, it's human nature. Once we lose one thing to fight about we will find another to take out our testosterone and territorial instincts on. When will sleeping go out of fashion?

"Do what we say or we'll destroy your home, then kill your family, then kill you" is still as powerful a reason to acquiesce to demands as ever it was. This will never go out of fashion
