your prof is going after the animalistic behavior...forgetting that humans think and feel differently from animals...even though we are technically listed as such...violence has no part in sex unless both partners want it and are into that sort of thing...but they are not related behavior and you can find several studies to support this if you want to blow your prof conclusion...

Not necessarily. They might both involve similar forms of sympathetic nervous system arousal (e.g. rapid heartbeat, etc.) but violence always relates to aggression, whereas sexuality need not be aggressive, or involves distinct constructs such as intimacy.
Your teacher might be leaning towards the Freudian side of things. We've come a long way from that point. I'm disappointed.

They are not
But some people are ''sadists"
A sadist is:
1. Psychiatry. sexual gratification gained through causing pain or degradation to others. Compare masochism.
2. any enjoyment in being cruel.
3. extreme cruelty.
Other people are "masochists"
A masochist is:
1. Psychiatry. the condition in which sexual gratification depends on suffering, physical pain, and humiliation.
2. gratification gained from pain, deprivation, degradation, etc., inflicted or imposed on oneself, either as a result of one's own actions or the actions of others, esp. the tendency to seek this form of gratification.
3. the act of turning one's destructive tendencies inward or upon oneself.
4. the tendency to find pleasure in self-denial, submissiveness, etc.
I hope the explanation has satisfied you.
