Try squeezing the caliper pistons back in with a large C clamp. You'll find out soon enough. Make sure the slider pins are clean without scoring and are well lubricated. Use synthetic brake grease on the slider pins. Replace them if they appear corroded or rusty.

do you mean worn out??yes they can and will,that is why you need to keep a chech on the pads and replace them at the first sign of wearing down

they will wear out, and it makes for a very dangerous situation...you could kill yourself or others if you dont get them fixed!
