Im asian (south east asian chinese) and not sure what colour i should dye my hair. I've dyed my hair a year ago in a dark brown colour which has faded into a light copper brown colour. Now half my hair is my natural hair colour(black) and the other half still a copper brown colour.

Should i try dying my hair at home or go to a salon? Any recommendations for a good home hair dye kit or hair salon in central london (which is not too overpriced! im on a student like budget at the moment!)?

Thanks!

Im not an expert in colour advice, but usually when I see people with dark colourd hair with copper highlights I think it looks nice, it looks natural and doenst look too overdone. However for highlighting hair I would recommend that you go to a salon as home dying kits dont always work especially highlighting kits as it is a masterful art! Im also a student and I find that most salons have student days where students get reduced rate, or training says where students actually perform the colouring, but with the trained technician watching over them. Ive had it done by a trainee before and it turned out fine :)

why not try a mobile hairdresser? that way they will be able to advise on the best colour to suit your skin type, eye colour etc.. but will not be too costly like a salon. if you have a yellow pages in london then have a look under mobile hairdressers, ring a few up and see who gives you the best quote. please don't attempt it at home as with natural black hair AND coloured areas then this will take a professional.

get your hair dyed at a salon light brown then ask for a tinting cap (about $78) and ask for all shades of blond like copper lighter browns and some blond.
this looks so beautiful!

have fun.

u should get it dyed a darkish brown or brunette color and get blond highlights. or just get it dyed sandy blond. that's very popular in japan right now, and u should also get it done in a salon. having the hair curled at the bottem half of ur hair is popular too, (if u have long hair). but i prefer super straight.

i think you should go to a salon. since ur a student, ask your girlfriends or others. most students are on a budget unless they're from super rich parents and they'll know a salon with moderate charges

Well if your not too fond of working with your hair then visit a nearyby salon And for you, blonde will be totally cool and be a change from you dark hair well not completely dying it blonde, that will be too dramatic, just do it underneath thats wat i did sorta because i have dirty blonde hair and underneath i dyed it black and its not coming out =( o well i like it Happy Hair Stylin!

best to go to a salon, but you could ask them for a student discount or negotiate the price...

e-mail me if you are in London, I know friends who work in Soho in a Japanese hair studio, so might be able to help

salon's do it better...try getting thick streaks in a coppery blonde shade n the rest hair jer black.....n keep ur hair straight too....it looks cute
if u're young then u could try getting flamingo pink thick streaks or cherry red thick streaks for a radical look ,, looks very cool on straight black hair
