There is an old film where one scene it in, a guy places his hand on glass and flies make up the shape of his hand on the other side of the glass. Also i think there was a scene where there is a person in a coccoon type thing in the film. I know it's very vague but i remember this being one of the first horror type films that i saw when i was younger and want to find it.
I was convinced that it was 'The Fly' but i watched it yesterday after many years and realised that it wasn't! Please help!

The only film i remember having cocoons is "Cocoon". It is a 1985 science fiction film, directed by Ron Howard about a group of elderly people who are rejuvenated by aliens.

The thing with lots of flies suggests it's one of the Amityville Horror films?

It could be candyman if they are not flies but bees. There are plenty of shots of bees covering all of Tony Todd's fingers. Movies with cocoons in them I would think Species or perhaps invasion of the bodysnatchers.
