If there were no carniverous animals, the numbers of herbvivores would soon overpopulate an area and destroy the ecosystem. There is only so much food, water, and space available to the herds of herbivores. The carnivores keep a balance in nature.

An interesting point, but the premise is flawed. The world is full of things that are dangerous to humans and other things - for what reason should any of them be eradicated? Do you drain the coolant out of your car because it's toxic?
