I have always said, "If you can't be honest to yourself, how can anyone else believe you to be honest with them." That is just saying what was said in "Hamlet" "... To thine own self be true." Trust and honesty. I can't make one more important than the other. In a way, they are the same thing.

A man will find it easier to trust others before he trusts himself because he knows they are flawed but he only suspects that he is flawed.

I absolutely agree!!!
But come to think of it, how can u not trust your own self?!?! It's weird. It's not right. That shows lack of principle, self-discipline and right attitude.
