try a couple of days going to bed at the later time but still wake up at your normal school time. You'll probably be getting a very small amount of sleep. Now go about your day as if nothing is different and remember no naps. After a couple of days you'll fall asleep when your head hits the pillow no matter what time it is.

Make sure that you are active during the day.

Do not eat shortly before going to bed.

Go to sleep a little earlier each night. That should wean your body away from your present schedule.

Get out of bed for a few minutes if you have trouble falling asleep.

Your present sleep schedule is unhealthy. Once you get out of it do not go back to what ou are doing this summer.

This happens to probably 95% of people during summer break. :P I would set your alarm clock for about 1 hour before you'd want to wake up (example 7 hours rather than 8) each day then hopefully by the time school starts you'll be waking up on time.

Or you could just stay up the whole day that school starts then hopefully go to bed by 10 pm or so.

Start going to bed earlier, but do it slowly. First night, go to bed at 4am, next night, 3am. Doesn't matter if you actually fall asleep at that time, just he act of lying in bed will get your body use to it. Also, try more physical activity during the day, to wear yourself out.

A nice cup of chammomile tea before I go to bed always puts me to sleep.

drink warm milk.. or read a book.. reading at night makes me sleepy..or you can just start forcing yourself to wake up early with an alarm.. so you will be tired enough later on at night to go to bed early.. and get used to the waking up early schedule for school...

take some sleeping pills from your doctors
try counting backwards
try thinking of all the names with only 3 letters
and do a lot in the day outside to tire you out

hope that helps

One thing I found helpful is a glass of warm milk (if not allergic to milk of course).
