one of my favourite words is abhorrent.. it just looks nice when written..what is you fav word and why?

I like the word 'conglomerate', describing a kind of rock made of lots of little rocks stuck together.

It's the poetry of the word- 'conglom', two strong syllables, with half rhyme. Then, move to the 'er', a step down to an unstressed syllable, and a left turn from the whole 'o' sounds' to a slurred 'e'. Finally, 'ate'... or 'rate'... the slur resolves itself in a triumphant strong syllable, a crisp 'a' and a clipped 't'. Beautiful.

Seriously though, why do you find your favourite word to be abhorrent? Don't be afraid, most of us are adults here, tell us what it is ;)

I just like the way it sounds.
It means an elongated organ on the posterior surface of a testis that constitutes the convoluted beginning of the vas deferens.
Lots of cool words in there too.
I wanted to name my cat that but my partner wouldn't let me.

interesting.

It makes me laugh. At art college, people would get shot down in flames for saying that something was "nice". So they just swapped it for "interesting". "Oh, what an interesting painting".

So maybe my favourite is interchangeable with nice. It all becomes very silly.
