The IRS has been given too much power without the necessary evil of proper accountability. They are the only organization I know that has the power to borrow my money without having to pay interest, but charges me interest out my yin/yang.

Well, America was pretty much started to protect the interests of certain people in the colonies, particularly as the Brits were insisting on the colonies not extending into Indian territories.
As to taxation, that 'no taxation without representation' cry was a good PR line. Taking it at face value, nobody living in the US and not entitled to vote should pay any taxes whatsoever.

What most people don't know about the taxes we pay
( income tax ) is that their is no law saying that we have to pay them! it was enacted during the war either WW1 or WW2 to help fund the war effort and it was suppose to end when the war was over.
Only Businesses are required to pay Income tax!

The USA was started for several reasons. The most tax-related one being a three penny tax on tea (it doubled the price for Americans). At the time our country was founded, British mercantilism ruled the seas, and pretty much anything that was shipped by sea had to come through British harbors, to be properly taxed, or face His Majesty's Navy.

There is no clause that allows taxation on one's income. Not even the 16th amendment. Figures for defense speanding are almost always equil to the revenue from income tax. Presumably if everyone stopped paying income tax--goodbye military industrial complex.
