Well you'd be likely to believe more as a narrative if you watch the MOVIE MASH since the director pretty much used the script as a guideline rather than as an actual script. But they write a screenplay for most movies and TV series.

Each one looks similar, but the main difference is that the TV show usually has several stages that are used repeatedly, so their is a shorter description after each stage is described once. Writing a narrative would only help in setting up the screen play, but you would still want to break down each characters speech and actions so that it would be easy for them to perform.
