When a person runs for public office, their entire life if scrutinized. Every thing they ever did, thought or believed becomes public. Why would anyone want to go thru that. Good people who would be excellent candidates avoid running for office because they want their privacy.

In the words of my hero George Carlin "Garbage in garbage out." Our citizens become our leaders. We have lazy selfish greedy people that become our leaders! Besides that the wealthy control everything anyway!
