At this stage all you really have to know is...
Democrats are generally for plans to, in some form or another, socialize health-care.
Republicans are generally happy with how things are now (some changes but certainly not radical change).

Some of the Dems have plans but few take them seriously at this point, for if they are elected whatever comes about will look completely different from their plan...if anything comes about at all.

I know this is a big issue this go around (with some on both sides) but I wouldn't vote simply on this issue in regards to either party. Serious changes are unlikely and all of them know this. This is a issue to be decided by congress in the end (one way or another). A President cannot dictate how health care will be managed.

Ok your New to America, let me explain the Ballgame, every four Years during the Presidential Election you hear about Health Care for all Americans (since 1948)and no matter who wins it doesn't happen.

This is because the Health Care Industry (Kaiser,etc..) are very Power full, they own many politicians, they can buy TV and Radio Ads that Brainwash many empty headed Americans that "Government Run Health Care" would be the worst thing that ever happened to America.

In America the Rich and Power full Corporations are the Real Rulers of this country and the 300 Million People who live here are just simpletons who go to their mediocre jobs to support this evil nation.Read the Book "1984",it is what America will look like soon.

funny coudn't find a definetion for healthcare.... but election that is based on 2008....the formal process of selecting a person for public office or of accepting or rejecting a political proposition by voting. It is important to distinguish between the form and the substance of elections. In some cases, electoral forms are present but the substance of an election is missing, as when voters do not have a free and genuine choice between at least two alternatives. …blah blah.....

good luck

In actuality.... does it really matter what each candidate says? It really matters when they get elected if they practice what they preach.

The 2008 election will not be about health care. In the US we have health care. We the people will not accept socialized medicine. The election will be about national security.

Until the election day, one never knows, it is always the same, those waiting to be elected will always do their best to try to state they will give better than the other, but once in parliament, does it ever really happen? And if it was to happen, we all know it basically takes 3 years to become official!

Well, you've got Hilary, who wants her thesis on Socialism to be validated, and everyone else, who don't have any clue, who are trying to say, "You're a nutcake", with varying degrees of politeness, although they don't have other ideas to offer to fix a gaudy mess that is actually the fault of the insurance companies working behind the efforts of the US government to: a) be fair; b) prevent cheating.
