Addie,
You will get the best results for this style by giving yourself a wet roller set. A curling iron will do okay, though. This style is very loose, so you don't need to try to copy this exactly. After curling your hair, brush it up a few times. When you find a look you like, use bobby pins to hold it in place. Next, play with the sides and the back in the same way, pinning them in place similarly to the photo.

Once the edges are pinned up, begin playing with the back and sides, leaving the top for last. Pin in place each piece as you find a way you like it. This will take some practice to achieve. Even hairdressers have to practice "up-dos" to get something acceptable. It's not a beginning skill. If you become frustrated, take the picture to a hairdresser, have him or her do it for you, then watch how they do it, and try it at home. Have fun with it.

oh thats easy

you need an curling iron for the top curl, and a comb, and some hair spray/harden products (thats not noticeable)

do it in a form of a mohawk.

curl it with the iron, and hold it up with the comb to desired place, then spray with hair spray, hold it till it drys and stays in place.

so basically just curl, and hold the end part of your hair up with a comb, and spray, wait till it stays in place. =)

first let your hair down... get a curling iron and start curling sections of your hair..then grab small sections starting from the crown of your head and pin them back with bobby pins. and keep grabbing sections and pinning them..let some locks flow over the pins and hairspray!
