Vampire novel with nun with fath so strong no vamp can kill her?

All I remember is it is set in a deserted city with tall buildings...the vamps have decimated the human population....pockets of humans are left...most are hiding out...and this nun who has faith so strong the vampires cannot kill her or turn her...or make her afraid of them...
Does anyone know the name of this novel or short story?
