I cheated on my girlfriend. No excuses, I messed up and regret it. Please don't bash me for cheating..that's not the question. After 5 months apart, we finally are getting back together. Yesterday she said that she told her parents. I'm really serious about this relationship and am considering marraige. Will the fact that her parents know that I made such a mistake, live with me forever? How important is my relationship with her parents?

Well you'll probably have to earn back their trust along w/ hers, but really as long as you make their daughter happy and treat her right then that one mistake wont haunt you forever. Her parents in time will see how happy ya'll are and that you would never do anything to hurt her again and they'll be able to forgive and forget. Good to hear you were able to realize you mistake and work things out.

Look, i had a falling out with my boyfriend a while ago and i told my parents about. Obviously they werent happy at the time but i talked to them to clear things out. My father's exact words were "When you love him we love him and when you hate him we hate him" basically when he's good to me they like him and when theirs a fight or something they arent too fond of him. And thats understandable.

If you want to be serious with this girl she maybe needs to talk to her parents about your relationship together. So that her parents can understand that mistakes do happen and you guys took a long break and realized this is where you both want to be, together. Let her parents see that your serious about their daughter and not only do you want to take care of her, but your determined to make her happy. And that in turn will make them happy!

Don't expect the parents to have any respect for you and expect the rest of the family members to know as well. For all they know you will mess up again big time, so you have got alot of hard work ahead of you, proving what a nice, loyal guy you can be.

The relationship is extremely important to her parents, after all its their daughter. You need to sit down and talk to her parents (mainly her dad) and tell him whats on your mind. They will appreciate it. Best of luck, it will take a while for them to forgive you but if you love her prove to them that you are an honorable guy.

prolly won't live with you forever. the fact of the matter is you are dating the daughter of the parents not the parents. if she can forgive in time they will also.as long as it doesn't happen again. it is her choice to be with you not theirs.
that is why we date who we date because most of the time the parents don't like the person.

her parents will never like or trust you, and they will be in your life forever if you marry her, you make the choice.
