Temperature has a big effect on ants, since their bodies are at the temperature of their surroundings.

Yup. The warmer it is- the more ACTIVE the ants. So if the Party's just ended, & you don't feel like cleaning up the mess right away, turn up the thermostat- and go to bed. The only thing ants DON'T do- are windows. :)
