Pronunciation 1: Mah-Chure
Pronunciation 2: Mah-Tour
What the hell is up with Mah-Tour? Seems like snooty intellectuals want to pronounce it this way. I hate the way it sounds.

Haha, all the old people say "Mah-Tour". Ugh, it gets on my nerves....I think I yelled "Its mah-chure!" once at some random man who was lecturing me.
Bouncing off of Ziggyman's answer....I HATE when people say E-ther. It sounds stupid. I say I-ther. CarAmel is another one...its not carmel, there is another A people.

Pronunciation 1: Mah-Chure is the way common folk say it
Pronunciation 2: Mah-Tour is the way the upper class say it
"i say too-may-toe, you say to-ma-tow,"
"let's call the whole thing off"...lol

Its all based in the region you live. For example: I use Pop, other people around the world use Soda, Coke, Soft Drink, ect. You get the idea.. Although I don't know anyone who says Mah-Tour.

I've found that "Mah-Tour" is used more by older (and I mean older than I am, which is 42) people. My parents always said it that way, and everyone else I've ever heard say it that way were older. I say it the first way.

I didn't even know some people pronounced it "Mah-Tour" but it sure does sound gay.

mah-tour is wrong, my dad pronounces it like that and i always make fun of him for it.

It is simple really. Pronunciation 2 is reserved for only douche bags to use. That way, the rest of us can identify them more easily.
