I am a 22 year old guy...in college... and I am gay. I honestly do not feel comfortable in the body I am in. I want to physically look like a girl. But I am debating wether or not to do it. I really think I was born in the wrong body. When I see a girl I admire them because they are my role models...I would like to become one of the. Some of you might think that this is not right but if you have negative opinions, you can keep them. I am sure of who I am and just want positive opinions on what I can do.
And please...I do not need moral or religious advice...so please don't give me that.

Reputable providers of sexual reassignment surgery will perform these operations only after someone has gone through some pretty serious counseling. I believe you must live as a member of the gender you wish to transition to for a while as well.

If you are truly considering such an option, you'd do much better to seek out opinions from the larger transgender community, which you should be able to find through local GLBTQ organizations or even on google.

Be prepared, as well, as wrong as it is that this happens, that there will be people who would be happy to hurt you because of what and who you are. I recommend that you read "Stone Butch Blues" by Leslie Feinberg. Check out www.transgenderwarrior.com

Good luck whatever you decide!

BTW, there are transgender ministers in some denominations, so don;t assume that moral or religious advice would necessarily discourage you or discount your feelings in this matter.

I'm not going to get all religous on you...but be happy with the way god has made you...you are you for a reason...this decision is completely up to you...but if you are asking the public this question then you need to think this over...because if you do it just consider the consequences...I had a teacher who did it but I don't think he was happy because he was looked upon as a freak...if you are unhappy with your life then I think this is the last thing you want to do...trust me...

It's your life and you get to choose who you want to be...but choose wisely...this decision could change your life for the worse in so many ways

Since you are asking this on Y! answers...seriously think this over....

well, i think that you shouldn't do anything too drastic like operations or anything yet. it's kinda like getting a tattoo. you should maybe cross dress or act more feminine to see if you are more comfortable acting and dressing like a woman. back to the tattoo thing, if you want to get one draw the design on the spot where you want it and leave it there for a year of two (having to redraw it of course) and get used to it. doing anything too major too fast could cause you to regret it. but otherwise, maybe see a psychiatrist because i know a lot of people in you're situation do that because they read into your mind and help you figure out what makes you happy. go to a liberal one though. i think you are a very brave man, honestly, your braveness makes me want to cry of shear joy. no joke, im usually not this emotional.

tough question, I know many folks who have done it all the way, and understand that they have gone through much psycho-analysis before the big operation.
