I go in to the store strong-headed that I will come out of the norm! But when I reach the register and it totals over $100 I know I have failed. I try so hard, but the extras always get me.......For instance:
Fuzzy socks
Uniform bras ( don't ask )
big boxes of cereal
Lotion
Shampoo/conditioner

PY does most of the shopping and I hardly go there but, PY does and , yes, he spends less. He generally spends about $50.

I wish ! My husband figured that out a couple of years ago. He started telling the checkout folks that they better be nice to us cause we pay the light bill there.

Yes- sometimes I go there just to get film developed or to get dog food or lunch for $1.50!

My Jones is Hudsons Treasure Hunt and Big Lots...and I always spend big bucks!
