Unknown. Since defeating Grindelwald, Dumbledore has apparently been using the Elder wand as his wand. According to the story of the Three Brothers from The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Death took and elder and turned it into a wand for the eldest brother. Dumbledore believes that unlike the way the tale has the Hallow's created it was really the Peverell brothers who created the three objects, so Antioch Peverell could have had some unknown core in the wand, maybe a strand of Merlin's hair. Though as the Perevell's could have been older than Merlin even.

Dumbledore's wand is the Elder Wand, a deathly hallow given to the eldest Peverell by Death. According to lore, Death just snapped it off a tree and gave it powers, so i don't think it has a core. check book 7 on the chapter on the deathly hallows when hermione was reading the story in the lovegoods' house.

I don't think it was described in the books. We just know that he had the Elder Wand but what its core is, it didn't say. Prior to his Elder Wand, I think it would be best to visit www.mugglenet.com for JKR's answers to such questions. I think it was phoenix feather like Harry's.

I'm not sure what it was.....But I'm certain that it was not a feather from Fawkes, as fawkes only gave two feathers, Voldemort had one and Harry had the other.....but not Dumbledore. I don't think it said one time, only once........'Harpie Hair'? I'm not sure....but NOT a 'phoenix feather'!

Um, I don't mean to be a jerk, but don't you think your daughter is getting a bit INTO these books? I mean, isn't she concerned in the slightest about actual history of the real world, or what makes cars go?
