I have a week old daughter, and i was wondering if bringing her in the nail salon would harm her at all- I dont want to bring her in there if it could harm her, so thanks everyone!!

I have taken my son with me to get my nails done numerous times since he was born (he is now 8 months old). The place is well ventilated, clean, and I really have had NO bad experiences. Plus the ladies there usually keep him entertained, which he loves. I would say go ahead. I might be the bad person here, but the entire time I was pregnant I did get my hair done (dyed) and got my nails done. My son is just fine, so don't worry!

have you ever seen a pregnant woman working in a nail salon? The one I go to had 2 women pregnant at the same time and their babies were perfectly healthy. If you are concerned about the fumes put her infant seat in the stroller and drape a blanket over.

The chemicals they use on acrilyic nails is actually harmful to adults too. I would back off on taking her. I dont even take my 2 year old. There is also laquer dust in the air, and nail powder from the "faux: nails floating. Why do you think those chinese nail techs wear face masks?

Imagine stuffing your head into a bottle of nail polish remover and trying to breath. Cause that's what it will be like for her. Hell most adults cant tolerate that smell without a mask. Leave her at home or with someone else. Dont bring her in, it's harmful. common sense.

It would be harmful for your baby considering that all sorts of dirt are in there not to mention the chemical fumes from the nail polish, etc.

Bring her in so you can get your nails done, or bring her with you while you work in a nail salon? I would never bring a baby to work in an environment like that. I also wouldn't bring a one-week old anywhere in public--usually the youngest babies you see out and about are at least a month old.

yeah i get my nails done too but I think you should hold off on that the chemicals are bad for us and why do ut hink they wear masks at the salon? i would not take your baby to the salon i have a 3 month old girl and i would not take her ow eve thoigh it would e easier huh

I wouldn't take the risk, because you have those fumes and all those unsanitary nail dust going around in there so i wouldn't take a risk, especially with it being a little newborn infant!

hmmm, Yea it will hurt her...Chemical smells that you can smell and some you can't. Please be careful. You know how some kids " huff " paint? They kill their brain cells little by little... Your baby 's lungs, liver,etc. are still growing. Give her the chance to do that with clean air. Please be careful, One moment of careless doing could bring you a life time of heart ache!
