1. You should have a VERY good understanding of ActionScript 2.0 to even mess with this.
2. Don't bother doing it from scratch. Plenty of people have come before you and done it.

You can find the source online elsewhere for his work. It used to be free but now he's charging for it. I've seen other people hosting his stuff though so you might get lucky.

if you're using Flash, use ActionScript to do that.
