It happens, some bulbs are not vry good quality or are very old and the heat rising from the element dries out the "glue" which sticks the glass to the bakolite and brass. Sometimes they even blow the fuse or trip the switch in the fuse box. They are like everything else, cheap ones are less stable than better quality ones. Anyway, as I said, don't worry about it but make sure, when you remove the brass cup from your bulb holder that you turn the switch off or you might get the shock of your life!

Soooo, let me get this straight...
You're saying you had two (2) lightbulbs explode in your house?

First of all, lightbulbs will usually just burn out leaving a dark around inside the bulb...if yours are blowing up like that you have a power problem and better call in an electrician to see what's wrong.
I bet your electric bill has been higher than you might expect it to be and you can't figure out why, right?
You have too much voltage/amperage coming in and you might find your house on fire pretty soon.

btw...before you remove what's left of the bulb from the sockets, make sure (make doubly sure) that the switch is OFF to that device.

nope....and if you still have more...i wouldn't be using them...I'd report it to someone just in case there are others using the same type of bulb from the same lot which could be defective and could injure someone.

Sounds like you are overloading your circuits, how many electrical devices do you have hooked in? Better be careful or you may blow your breaker also
