Hello,
The question i am assuming is regarding the RAM of your PC. You have a 256 MB RAM with 32 MB allocated to Graphics. I'd suggest you goto a hardware dealer and ask for another 256 MB RAM (if you have an additional slot or just go for 512 MB replacing your current 256 MB card). Mind it that RAMs nowadays are of various types... there are types like SDRAM, DDRAM, DDRAM2 (a.k.a DDR2), just verify from your motherboard manual what type your PC requires.
Regards.
P.S.: Motherboards also have a limit as to the maximum it can host... some motherboards support a maximum of 1 GB ram, some 2 GB, just check your requirement cos i've given instructions so as to increase your RAM to 480 MB (512MB - 32MB for graphics)
I'd even suggest increasing your graphic memory for better graphics quality.

Well in computer the Random Access Memory (RAM) is responsible for the smooth functioning of the computer it is something like our memory acts when we take down phone numbers remember it for a short time and then forget it....so ram is needed for the same function in computers....so you can increase the size of Ram by purchasing and inserting in the CPU .Ram Comes in various capacities..128 MB,256MB,512 MB and 1GB....you can purchase from a local computer hardware dealer

You can upgrade both your RAM (Random Access Memory) as well as HDD (Hard Disc, Permanent Storage). You need to check the standards/platforms of your computer. RAM standards are DDR, DDR2, HDD standards are PATA, SATA, SATA2, etc. Then purchase required items. Check also whether your computer has enough slots to support new items. With branded computers you may have problems of less ports. Also, motherboards restrict on capacity of RAM. Verify with your dealer on your current specifications.
Suggested: Upgrade to 1GB for ultimate performance from XP, purchase a separate graphics card (check support from motherboard)
For the time being you may also try increasing virtual memory(not as powerful as an hardware upgrade though!)
Upgrade your system and enjoy...!!!

Go to your computers manufactures website, look up the specifications of your computer. Find out what type of memory chip your motherboard takes, and find out what the maximum amount it takes. And then go to the store and purchase it or order it online. If your computer is old, your only choice may be to order it online, but check local computer shops first.

You have to buy a compatible memory chip and install it. Different motherboards use different types of memory.
Since you say you have 224Mb, I'm guessing you have a laptop. Check the mfgr website for info on buying/installing... if it's not easy, take it to a shop.

Any shop like circuit city or radio shack or best buy has a battalion of geeks ready to tell you things so they can sell you stuff.
And if you arent comfortable with their price just compare their price with online shops before you buy.
RAM for your machine should be fairly inexpensive. A decent upgrade will cost you around $50.
