I think I had one today. The right side of my chest was getting tight with sharp pains. The more I breathed, the worst it got. My left arm felt stiff and I had REALLY bad nausea and kept feeling like I was about to vomit.

This all happened after I drank an energy drink that had a lot of caffeine in it. I never drink caffeine seeing how I only drink water and milk so this was something different for me to consume.

Was this a minor heart attack?

There is no such thing as a "minor" heart attack. Only a cardiologist can tell you if you had any infarction. Even they can be mistaken. When I had a heart attack, they all told me it was just an anxiety attack, since the blood work, blood pressure, and EKG were all normal.

I stuck to my guns, they sent me to Nashville (from Columbia, TN) basically to get me out of their hair. At Vanderbilt, they did an angiogram, where there was a 70% blockage, and a 80% in another artery. They did an emergency angioplasty from there.

The pain was like you describe, the pain also shot up into my jaws too.

Go to Mayoclinic.com and read the symptoms. That is what I do every time I think I'm having a heart attack. ☺

These do sound like typical heart attack symptoms. Wouldn't hurt to be checked up on by an MD.

I believe caffeine can cause heart burn. I think a heart attack in women can be characterized by back pain too.

Do you have a family history of heart disease? Blood clotting factor disease? Diabetes?

If in doubt, go see a doctor. An EKG (the little wires stuck to your chest, the little wiggly line print out) can tell them if you have heart muscle damage from a heart attack.

Good luck.

Well that does kinda sound like it. I am not a doctor but I would be nervous if that happen to me. Plus with all the heat. If you are still having those feeling I would go to the ER and get checked out. Better to be safe then sorry. Maybe you just pulled your arm and the soda made you feel sick....But just to be safe

Symptoms, I don't know. But I know what can CAUSE a minor heart attack in a woman: seeing a man actually clean up after himself!
