I am an Objectivist.

The opposite is Postmodernism.

I believe in reality; the postmodernist dispenses with The Real.
I believe in the individual; the postmodernist believes in dictator-slave collectives.
I believe in realism--checking ideas back against reality; the postmodernist believes reality is what you can defraud people into believing.
I believe in selfish rights; the postmodernist believes in
public interest tyranny.
I believe in scientific definitions of the categories of things; pots modernists avoid or falsify all definitions.
I believe in a nation of marketplaces; the postmodernist believes in a nation of state-dictated "businesses".
etc., etc., etc.
So I don't have to imagine the opposite--evil empires, communism, Nazis, the Medieval Catholic Church and the Bush Administration provide me all the examples I will ever need, thank you.

Yes, quite simple
One of 100% garuntee
As through experience in life, nothing works 100%.
Anyone who believes they are 100% right on something, is already wrong.
Life cannot be perfect
You can be sure, you can be positive, you can be correct, but you cannot be dead positive, 100% sure, or correct as to nothing is wrong at all.
There is being right, as in getting the right math answer
But there is no true correct answer to life.
That opposes all known logic.
Of course, I can be wrong, it's not the first time, and it won't be the last.

Of course. Beliefs are simply a compulation of thought, ideas, and concepts, based on a particular cultural environment. They are neither true or false, except as your "believe" them. An example, I have taught firewalking for more than 20 years. When I first learned of this experience, I knew for sure, beyond belief, that fire burned. It took 6 times walking over fire, over a period of months, before I was able to walk without burning. The fire never changed.... I changed my mind, my thoughts, and ultimately, my belief. Life is perception, and those perceptions are colored by our beliefs.

It is very difficult and sometimes impossible, it is called empathy. As a therapist I have to do it with every client. With some iit is too difficult and so I have to recommend they see someone more in tune with them.
