1. cos^2 x = cos x cos x

3 cos x cos x = SQRT(3)sin x cos x
3 cos x = SQRT(3) sin x
SQRT(3) = tan x
The square root can be either positive or negative so the tan is likewise and the angle can be in any quadrant
x = 60, 120, 240 and 300 degrees

2. cot x = cos x / sin x
4 cos x / sin x = 5 cos x
4/5 = sin x
the sin is positive in the first and second quadrants
x = 53.13 degrees and 126.87 degrees
