I like the 19th amendment because it allowed women to vote.
I hate the 18th amendment because it prohibited alcohol. than goodness for the 21st amendment.

My all time favorite amendment is the most ignored -- the 10th amendment.
Conversely, I think the worse, and my most hated, is the 17th amendment -- direct election of Senators. The sovereign states have been completely unrepresented in the federal government for almost a century and it shows.
More than any other -- yes, even the 16th and 19th -- the lack of Senators truly representing their states has allowed the massive expansion of big-brotherment.

I hate the 19th because it permitted women to vote, and gave us both Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
My favorite is also the most ignored: The 10th!
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
Abortion, Gay Marriage, Stem Cell Research - all the most controversial issues today can be resolved with that single amendment, should people care to read it.

My favorite is 2nd, because it protects all the others. If I had to pick one I think we could do without, it would have to be the 22nd which limits the President to 2 terms. I think that if people are willing to elect a President multiple times, he is obviously do some good.
Wow, there's a lot of 2's in there.

The ones allowing the income tax and providing for direct election of senators - I think 16 and 17 - should be revisited.
Maybe the 22nd - limiting presidential terms - should be also. Or if we limit the president, why not limit the Congress and courts too?

i find that i like the 8th (no cruel and unusual punishment), and also the 28th, the most recent ammendment weve had. its in place so that should the Senate pass a law that increases their own pay, it does not come into effect until their next term.
