I personally keep peppermint shrimp in all my tanks, but these are about 2". They may not be the most colorful, but they'll breed, and they're a good control for Aiptasia anemones on new live rock - and they don't bother other polyps.

If you want shrimp in the 1.5 inch range, look at sexy shrimp (Thor amboinensis), boxer shrimp (Stenopus scutellatus), or clown shrimp/anemone shrimp (Periclimenes brevicarpalis ). Stay away from camel shrimp - these will eat polyps! You should also have a selection of snails (turbo, trochus, nassarius, nerites), and hermit crabs (blue-legged or scarlett). Beyond these, much will depend on the size of your tank. I've kept emerald crabs, arrow crabs, sally lightfoot crabs, pistol shrimp, cleaner shrimp, and sea cucumbers in tanks that were at least 10 gallons, and sea urchins, and brittle stars in tanks 30+. You just need to be careful with some of the shrimp that might be polyp eaters, and some of the crabs and sea stars that will eat small fish. Here are links to some good places to research the inverts before you get them:

For corals, a lot depends on your lighting. Mushrooms, leathers, zooanthids, clove polyps, and Xenia are all fairly easy ones to grow as long as you have at least compact fluorescent or T-5 lighting.
