I feel your pain. I live in Ohio, and there is NOTHING here, so I'm moving to CA later next year. I feel bad leaving my family, but I want to make a living, not just survive by working in a crappy factory or something. The thing about Vegas is that there are always jobs in the hotels and casinos. The longer you wait, the more money you will use up and then maybe you won't be able to afford to move, so my advice would be to move now! I hope everything works out for you, and keep your fingers crossed for me as well:)

Have you checked out jobs in Henderson? Or thought of going to school to learn how to be a dealer in one of the
casinos. I'll bet some of them get some good tips. But I don't
know if they get paid much better than minimum wage tho.
I wouldn't think there would be many career openings in the
Vegas area, unless you got into real estate. I hear Henderson
has really grown since I last was there. So maybe land is
still where it's at in sales and investments. Maybe you could
manage an apartment complex and get your apt. for free
and then a salary besides. Or even work at a motel as a
night clerk or even a wait person for good tips at one of the
hotel restaurants. There should be alot of those to make that type of job more than worth your while. Or go to bar tending school and learn how to be a 'mixologist' and juggle glasses in the air :). Or learn to play Poker exceptionally well and sit in for a few hands to take somebodys' money you honestly won.
There's always Calico not too far away and you can help
kids pan for gold at that amusement park, owned by the Knott
family. Or was.
I know, you can learn to ride a horse and work at the Ex Cal-
iber as a knight with a jousting partner. But that is not a good
career option. And you might fall on your backside alot too.
Well I've given you all the ideas I can think of. If you do decide
to go back home, that won't really be too bad. And there's
always someone who wants to buy a newer house right? It
sounds like a good place (Michigan) to raise a family and
have a comfortable life. The main thing, is that you try to work
at something you enjoy, and not just make a living at. As it
takes years to build up a client list if you are in sales and
want repeat business from property owners. Good Luck!

If you like Las Vegas stay there but if not then follow your heart. There may not be room for opportunity in MI but your family is there. Think back to what made MI home for you. Maybe you miss being there are you wouldn't even have given thought to moving back there as an option.

Give Las Vegas a little more time before you pull out. You can move back to MI any time.

Sounds like you're not wanting to pack it up and go home quite yet. Stay where you're at and keep applying. Look on Craigslist.
