Gosh John Lennon, we did. The government kissed the backside of every banana republic in the world in the cause of appeasement. Now look where we are.
If yolu had a realistic, mature outlook you would realize that there are too many factions. Who is we? It takes two to get along, as well as it takes two to fight.

Peace is terrific in the idealistic sense, but what happens when youre faced with the tyranny of things like imperialism, naziism, and communism?? We live in a REAL world with REAL problems and REAL tyrants. There is ALWAYS someone waiting to oppress you and use your country for something evil.

Also, what of Americas enemies we CAN do something about like Saddam Hussein that murdered people in the hundreds of thousands? Do we sit on the sidelines because we cherish peace over freedom?

Sure, we'd be conquered, just like the Swiss, The Swede's and all the other country's that just mind their own damn business. What a load of crap, no one hates you if you just mind your own affairs.
