Right now, it's pretty hard to say. I will say that you can never count them out.
The Brewers are young and seem to be struggling as of late. You also have to look at Milwaukee's road record: 21-35! Also, injuries to Ben Sheets and Tony Graffanino don't help either.
As far as the Cubs go, I don't think they'll be seeing the postseason this year. They've also been falling apart as of late. They were just swept by the Houston Astros. Also, Alfonso Soriano is on the DL for at least the next month!
So, the Cards have a better chance than some might think. The good thing is that St. Louis has six more games against Milwaukee. Well, that could potentially be a bad thing, considering that the games are in Milwaukee! :-)

At this point, the Brewers, Cubs, Cards and Astros all have a shot @ the postseason. With the Brewers and Cubs playing like crap, the Cards just 7 or so games back, and the Astros rolling, it's not out of the realm of possibility.
I look for the Cubs offense and the Brewers pitching to both get back on track, though...I think it will be those two teams down to the wire, but it will get interesting if the teams' current trends continue.

They have a shot. Both the Brewers and Cubs have played slightly better than .500. If that continues and the Cards get on a hot streak and win 10 out of 12 games or something they could take the lead.

50%? try 5%...their pitching staff is completely depleted, they are not swinging the bats up to their full potential, and the cubs are still one of the hottest teams in the national league right now...they face a huge uphill battle once you consider that they can't make it through the wildcard, since the braves, phillies, and brewers/cubs will be fighting it out for that spot and already have put the cards at a big deficit in that race too

They're a long shot, I'll give u that. But we're now in August. So if both Milwaukee and Chicago screw up right b4 everybody's back in school, we could b lookin' @ St. Lou chasing both a div title & a wilde card berth.
I can also predict Pujols hitting 400-500 HRs if that's ok.
