well I already watch MLS.
That being said, I would love for more high caliber players to play in the US. Zidane is retired, but some others may be willing to move, one that comes to mind may be Ronaldo or Schevchenko. It shows that coming the the US Is worth it, with all the proceeds that MLS made just because David sits on a bench. I think that the rules may not let LA sign another big time player, but New York would be a big place to start

Me personally, no because I already watch MLS (even before Beckham's arrival). As for others: non-fans would not watch because they wouldn't know who zidane is; only the football fans would watch to see zidane play. If david cannot convince people to watch MLS, then Zidane will be no more effective than David because nearly everyone knows who David is. Don't worry about MLS - it is doing great (in part thanks to Beckham). GO BECKHAM!!!!!!!!!

Beside from the headbutt incident I think Zidane retired on top.. He had a great career both at club and national team level and he should keep it that way.. As much as I would love to be able to go to a stadium here in the US to watch him play, I'd rather remember him as playing his last game in the World Cup Final.

I would definitely go and watch Zidane playing. I would not
go and watch Beckham, because is so hyped by the media.
He is a good player, but not the level media hype is about.

I wish many more from Europe play in MLS.

Helllll yes I'd watch the MLS if Zidane came!! He is way better than beckam, the thing is Beckam is more popular with stars and movies witch make him an advertising guy. His is only good at passing, free kicks, Crooses and corners.
Zidane has it alll!!!!
And I don't think no one better tell with me that Zidane is not a better Free Kick taker than beckam.
So much skill man!!
It sucks that he has to retire at 35 only!

I already do watch, so the question would be. Would I watch games that he was in. For the sole purpose of watching him. I would say yes but that would be only if after watching the first few games he could keep my intrest if not. It would be like me watching Man U and Chelsea..I don't really care for either team. So I don't go out of my way to watch them. If there on tv, yes I'll watch, but only if there's nothing else on I want to see.

Magpie fan,

No.2 world-class players would not make much of a difference.Even though they may be some of the best in the world.

Of course,I'd think Zidane would be more likely to join the WWE than the MLS.In the WWE it's allowed to headbutt your opponent.

To the guy below me,it's Materazzi.Maserati's a car brand.

not after what he did in the world cup.. he was a great player, i admired him greatly.. but he let his team down in the world cup when he head-butted italian player maserati.. a great player would not let his team down and would not stoop down to such a level.. he has lost all my respect.. he might still be a great player but i wouldnt watch him play..
