Most, between hypertension, hypercolesterimia (high cholesterol), depression, impotence, etc, what do you expect. And hey would you rather have a stroke/heart attack, or not be able to make love? I'm happy to pay whatever it takes.
Oh and how about drugs that cure breast cancer, you want those to go away? (more people die of prostate cancer, but I hope you all understand the importance of breast cancer treatment and how it is more important than prostate cancer).

I need neosporin for the eye, which is stupidly classified as a prescription drug.
Its both a business and a sign of our prosperity that even the poorest people in America have access to drugs and medicine.

It's the Big Pharma way of getting everyone hooked,
"just say no!" to the "bad" drugs
--But say YES to corporate mind altering drugs everyone!
It's pretty sickening. Even so many con Repubs think there is nothing wrong with it,
illegal-bad, legal-good.
(This is why so many children raised with the DARE awareness campaigns have turned to being huge pill poppers--which can KILL you and give permanent brain damage).
At least most liberals aren't as disillusioned as this and know that a DRUG IS A DRUG.
Knowing this fact is a good start.

Yes, too many Americans are letting themselves be prescribed medications they may not need. Sadly, it even happens to small children

This is a business problem.
Doctors are prescribing unnecessary drugs to patients who don't need them.
It's called the "Doctor-Pharmaceutical Relationship".

I forgot the percentage but I know a high amount of kids (no pun intended) are on prescription drugs for ADD.
