Yes. Higher octane gas is easier on your engine, but frequent maintenance will do more for it than higher octane will.

Your 3 isn't going to sip gas like your Civic, that's not what it was designed to do!

Cheap gas (most of the time) will give you cheap results. I've learned not to buy ARCO gas as it always runs hot, and since I don't run any pressure in my cooling system, I never get ARCO.

Other cheap gas gives me rotten fuel mileage, but so does Chevron, go figure.

I do find when I use 76 my car always runs well and gets good mileage, but woo hoo, what a price tag!

Today I bought cheapo gas at a "Faststrip" gas station, and had plenty of power and good mileage (drove 250 miles to visit mom today), so today I gambled and won.

But it is always a gamble.

Be happy that you are not living in LA, gas is selling at $5.69 a gallon in some places and they have said that is is production problems. I think the problem is Obama saying during the debates that he will end the tax breaks (subsidies) for big oil because the prices have been going up steadily ever since then. If the oil companies have to use money that is based on their profits then this would be the normal price people would be paying. They are already high enough despite the tax breaks for R&D Hopefully the prices will stabilize within the next week because nothing pisses me off more than to spend $30 to fill a 5 gallon motorcycle tank

The more expensive gas is more expensive because it is a higher octane. This cause the engine to perform better, but not necessarily more fuel efficient. You may get a slight improvement in mileage, but nothing that would be worth it over the long run. My advice would be to get whatever gas that the car's manual recommends and stick with that.

No, it won't last longer, you'll just go broke faster. The Mazda just doesn't have as good of gas mileage as the Civic. (And the only cars that "need" high octane gas are crazy-expensive performance cars!)

NO

the more expensive gas is for higher performance vehicles that can't run on the lower octane gas. you should use what ever gas that it says to use in your owners manual. using higher octane gas can actually make your car run a little worse because it is not designed for it. the higher the octane makes it burn slower so that in a high performance engine with high compression the gas does not detonate before it is supposed to. the only cars that run high octane are usually either sports cars or luxury cars.

no you only need high octane if you're car calls for it. Just so everyone knows gas is gas it all comes from the same pipeline. Each brand adds their on additives but in reality they all use the same ones. So unless a garage has a dirty tank or something gas is gas. someone claimed higher octane is better for the endearment. if you're cars high end and in good shape maybe slightly but not by much.

Higher Octane, slower burn more you use.
If car use 95 octane OK use it, if it Pink, nock senser cut power, use 97 or octane boost but economy best on lowest octane cheapest petrol car wil run on. Som car nede 97 octane in UK in sumer, Montego is won, and car wit chippped blak boks sometime beter on 97 Octane, but a ruel of fum cheapest Petrol best mileage.

i dont think so because more expensive gas makes cars engine cleaner and last longer but doesn't help the feul consuption

I don't think the gas itself will last longer, but its better for your car. Your car might last longer if you use it.
