Im republican because I think they have the smartest economic strategy to keep this country strong. They are the only ones fighting for conservative values and against things like abortion and the idea of gay marriage. They are tough on national defense, tough on crime. I just disagree with their disgust of the unions. Unions are a necessary safety valve, they just need to be changed to better fit the 21st century. The old way of running unions is going to turn them into dinosaurs.

I knew someone would point out the obvious that being a registered independent was somehow a cop-out. I am and I do not think so. I do not want to identify myself with either party specifically. I have voted both ways, believe it or not, in the past. As I get older, which seems to be happening way too fast, I find I hold more conservative views than I did in my younger, less informed youth. So, independent it is, cop-out or not.

Since Independent is not a party, I identify with Libertarians. Keep the government out of mine and every other citizens business. Government should protect the country as a whole from foreign influence. Government should protect citizens from encroaching on each other. Government should regulate and build infrastructure that is needed for intra-dependent commerce. ie roads waterways etc

That’s all and no more.

I 'identify' with no political party. I vote for the man (or woman) whom I believe is the best candidate. Unfortunately, those candidates are few and far between given the monopolistic stranglehold the 'Republicrats' have on our corrupt two-party system.
I refuse to vote for the 'lesser of two evils'. I would rather NOT vote for either of the two evils.
H. Ross Perot was the last decent, honorable, honest, credible Presidential candidate to run for that office. I voted for him; I have not voted for a Presidential candidate since.

i am a registered republic for i believe in the tenants they are suppose to believe but an independent voter, i voted for our Dem Governor in the last election.

i think it is more important to look at a person's character rather than his party affiliations. how does he represent my views about the things that are important to me.

this horrific individual personal bashing of both sides is a fairly recent thing...not the disagreements but the personal attacks. it is really sad that we have lost our respect and civility.

Independent

Being an independent allows me the flexibility to point out errant behavior of individuals regardless of their party affiliation. It also affords me greater opportunity to converse with a variety of people on a variety of levels as I will agree with some of their views.

Although I consistently bash Bush Jr. One rarely hears me speaking despairingly of Bush Sr's presidential term. Mainly due to his brilliant, Gulf War, operation. As an Independent I hold Clinton accountable for his actions as well as Bush Jr. These views would remain regardless of the party that either were in.

I currently lean more-so toward the Dem side of the isle due to the actions and policies of the Repubs. When Dems get out of hand, I lean more-so toward the Repub side. I wish that all Americans were Independents in order to take the power back from the politicians as they would have to actually work for their votes versus having a guaranteed block no matter what they do.

Republican/Conservative!

First and foremost is giving honor, where honor is due, and that is to the God of Creation, and to Him Alone be the Glory for He is our Only firm foundation.

We also stand for Christian Values within the Family and marriage the way it was meant to be!!

Life for the unborn children, the only choice is to 'choose Life' because the unborn have no choice.

Without God America will crumble, just like every Nation before us did!!

'Any Nation that turns its back on God will be turned into Hell'

Put God first, and He will bless you!!

Spread the word!!!

Probably more independent. Sort of middle of the road. Not to far to the right or left; somewhat conservative but not closed minded.

Independent is a political party in the same way that agnostic is a religion.
