What is a "traditional" Dem, according to you?

I feel like I am a "traditional" Democrat and I think that homosexuals should have the same rights as anyone else. That includes marriage. If marriage was so "special" to straights, our divorce rate wouldn't be so high. Even if it is "special", straights shouldn't have any more rights than gays. None. America runs on the premise of Equal Rights, that includes gays. Or I should say..IT SHOULD.

America has survived many years by being a progressive country and progression would be to have equal rights for all citizens. Homosexuals are citizens and I know some of them that have stayed together longer than most straight marriages do anymore.

They should have the same rights that straights have. This is America, let's be Progressive.

Who cares, a person's sexual preference is none of my business, we don't live in the dark ages anymore. A person has the right to choose who they love. Just because I don't agree with it, doesn't make it wrong. It's not like they are hurting anyone. Homosexuals have as much right to be unhappily married as straight people do. : )

Why should they be ashamed? I thought one of the whole point of the Democrat party was to help groups like gays. I think if you are unhappy, you may be in the wrong party (but please, don't bring your bias to the Republican party, form a new party), but hey, why are gays bothering you?

Of course not. Real Democrats--in fact, real Americans--aren't prejudiced against homosexuals and don't attempt to discriminate or exclude them.

To the bigots, of course, not attacking or discriminating against someone they want to bully constitutes "pandering to them." But decent people don't care what bigots think.

I am happy that you are being honest. Many of your loud party members make it out that only conservatives don't like gay marriage when even blue states have voted strongly against gay marriage. I'm the complete opposite. I am republican but think there is nothing wrong with gay marriage.
