They allowed 2768 yards rushing last year. They have lost their best linebacker, Cato June, almost every one of the defensive tackles (Reagor and Simon are no longer on the team and McFarland is out for the season), both of their starting CBs. Bob Sanders, who allowed them to have 3 fluke good games in the playoffs, hasn't practiced and may not play at all this season.

The Colts defense is in worse shape than last year. Aren't they almost certain to allow over 3000 yards rushing? If they do get run over unlike any defense in history, what happens to them on offense? Will Peyton Manning have to throw the ball constantly because they're behind in games, making the problem even worse? Will the Colts be able to score enough points to keep up with how many their defense will give up? Will the Colts be able to finish 8-8, let alone make it back to the playoffs?

If they do, they're much worse than one could imagine. The average would be 190 yd/game!

I'm not a big stats guy, but this would bury all chances of them being on the cellar floor. 187 yards each and every game on the ground? NO WAY!

Wouldn't you say they lost those players because of that reason?? They cut those defensive players and signed better ones?? To answer your question honnestly as a person who hates the Colts, I don't think it will happen. They figured things out for the Playoffs, so it's possible they can carry that over into the 2007 season. Think about it: that same defense shut down Larry Johnson and the Chiefs, then held the Ravens offense from scoring. The system works, the players to fill that system were underachieving, so they got rid of them. What I think will happen is something more unexpected. Do you remember the poor performance of Peyton Manning in the entire playoffs? He looked average at best. That's going to carry over this season. He won't have that same passion for the game and fire in his eyes. He's going to play as if he were any other quarterback who would be benched mid-season, except his name and reputation keeps him as the starter all season long. Without their leader on the field, the Colts (even with a better defense) will have an average offense at best, which will result in a 4 to 6 win season in 07. Titans will take the divison. (I'm a New York Jets fan for all disclosure.)

That defense might give up 3000 points too. All joking aside, Indy's offense will have to control the clock to keep that defense off the field. Manning and Co. have all the tools to carry this team back to the playoffs, but another Super Bowl run won't happen with that D.

I believe they will give up 3000 yds rushing its only 187.5 per game and they will be 9-7 second in there division behind the Titans 11-5 then third will be the JAGS at 8-8 and then the Texans 7-9

3000 yards?!? That is a little outrageous. You have to figure that with their offense their opponents will be playing from behind a lot. That means they will have more teams throwing against them. I think 2800 sounds about right. They never had a good defense, so them dropping to 8-8 is a little extreme. 10-6 sounds more reasonable.

Not likely, even with the loss of talent it will be hard pressed for them to give up that many yards. If they do, even with Peyton, they will not sniff the playoffs. 3000 yards rushing equal no more than 4 wins.

NO THEY WONT, THE COLTS WILL FIND PEOPLE TO FILL HOLES. JOHNSON SEAMS GOOD. THE OFFENSE WILL KEEP THE DEFENSE OFF THE FIELD. TEAMS WONT RUN WHEN THEY ARE BEHIND. AND YOU ARE RETARTED IF YOU THINK THE COLTS WILL ONLY WIN 4-6 GAMES. RETARDED. THEY WILL WIL 12-13 GAMES AND HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE. ANOTHER STAT..COLTS LOST CLARK LAST YEAR FOR A BIT. THATS WHEN THEY STARTED LOSING. THEY ONLY LOST 1 GAME WITH DALLAS CLARK LAST YEAR..

you make some real good points but in my opinion i don't think that will happen and for one reason because peyton is going to try to manage the time of possesion so that the defense isn't on the field as much

Thats a tough one hard to say without seeing what they can do on the field.....but with Tony at the helm....and he being as a defensive minded coach believe it or not i think they will allow less than 3000 yards rushing
