The Celtics want Reggie Miller to come out of retirement to play fifteen minutes a game. I know he has the stamina for fifteen minutes and his shot is still deadly. He can't play forty minutes a game anymore obviously and the Celtics definitely have room on the roster. But it doesn't seem worth it to sign a former star to come off the bench for such few minutes. What do you think about the Celtics signing Reggie Miller?

Another bonus is he would still be in the East and have the opportunity to kill more Knicks.

Miller is a great player/personality for the NBA.
I like him in the booth, but if he decides to come back to persue the ring, he has go total support!

I grew up in Indianapolis watching Reg play for the Pacers. He always carried himself as a player that respected the game and was there for more then just the money. I think the Celtics wanting him to come out of retirement is an attempt to get some attention on a lack luster ball club. I'd be surprised, and frankly a little disappointed, if Reg took the offer. However, he'd probably score more points in those 15 minutes on the court then most Celtics all season!

They might have to sacrafice other bench players for cap money so they might not because it would cost a lot of money to get players to reload from the kevin garnett and ray allen (they traded at least 3 draft picks 7 players and tons of money to get those two) and there is no way to say how well reggie millers health is (if it was so good he might not have retired to begin with)

No way in hell. But I won't be surprised of the Celtics start recruiting off the playgrounds in Boston. Beyond the Big 3.. thay got nothing!

Great idea. It would instantly turn Pierce, Allen, and Garnett - now perceived as fading veterans with maybe a couple good years left in the tank - into an energized group of youngsters, relatively speaking.

With their depleted line-up they need someone to bolster their roster. Reggie is still fit to play (as you could see him in his TNT analysis segment) and I think would play great on Boston since he would substitute players who play like him (either Ray Allen or Paul Pierce). So yeah, he'll be a great fit in Boston.
