No, I usually scoop them up and deliver them to a semi hidden spot outside. Unless, of course, it jumps on me, then I turn into a raving mad woman, jumping around screaming like a loony and end up killing the spider while hurting myself in the process,

NEVER!
They eat Lots of Other more Annoying Pests like Mosquitos, Flys and Gnats.
I catch them and place them Somewhere more Appropriate, like a Bush Outside, so they can get to Work.

the little suckers I just smash with my hand, but the big ones I freak out and grab a newspaper or something. But nothing that moves (besides me and my dog) lives inside my house.

Spiders inside a house are thought to be good luck. If u don't like them, don't kill them. Just trap them and then put them outside. You wouldn't like it if someone...or something....thought u were big and freaky and just thought because u look weird I'm going to kill u. lol...just let um out. thy don't deserve to die.

I actually pick them up with something, usually a random piece of paper, and put them outside.

Eeep! I do the same thing. But if even a tiny spider is in my room, it's got to go. Anywhere else, only if it's big enough to catch my eye.
