A true friend stands the test of time, and is always there for you when you need someone to turn to. They listen, but don't judge. And give advice only when asked. And the relationship is on an even keel, with you doing the same. I am sorry to say I have never had a true friend, but I know what I expect in one, and what I would do should I ever have one.

My father always told me that you only meet a handful of truely good people in a life time. Sure you have lots of friends and aquantences but only a few really good friends.

I think what makes up a true friend is somebody that has your back in any situation. Some one that challenges your mind as well as your abilitieys. A true friend is someone that brings out the best in you.

Someone who is there with you to celebrate your good times with you (& not be jealous) and cry with you in your bad times (& honestly care.) A true friend will also keep your secrets.
