I asked god for a minute,
He gave me a day.
I asked god for a flower,
He gave me a boquet.
I asked god for a lover,
He gave me that too.
I asked god for an angel,
And he gave me you.

I think it is amazingly good...but unless your name is "John Raine", you didn't write it. You should always cite the author, even when posting on YA, especially when you are NOT the author.

That being said, this is a classic. The meter is spot on, the phrases are clean and concise, the beat is flawless...probably one of the best poems I've seen on this subject that is at once simple, humble and well said.

Thanks for sharing, next time give the author his due.

simple, to the point.... sounds kinda like either:
- something you might tell your girlfriend/boyfriend when you're about to propose
- a declaration of love to someone you like

good luck with all that... a little Yeats never hurt anybody either...

This is really good. Keep writing. You have a lot of talent and it shows. I want to read more because you are good at this. Keep your head up. I believe in you.
