I just moved to Las Vegas and plan to visit Hoover Dam this Saturday, should I drive there by myself or go with the tour group? I saw some package(Hoover Dam & Lake Mead bus tour for 49.99/person) on the web, not sure what is the best way for me, need some suggestion, Thanks a lot.

Unless you want to be stuck with the old crowd, Take your car. Its an easy drive and a great place to visit. Take the full tour of the dam if it is available at the time that you are there. it is one of the places that it truly Awesome, a much over used word that really applies to Hoover dam. You live in Vegas, just drive there yourself, and save the money. But take the Dam tour, it's just a couple of bucks, but
fabulous. Plus you get a good view of Lake Mead.

Definitely drive there. It will be a lot cheaper. you'll only have to pay for parking and the cost of the visitors center. And gas.
