I am trying to mount a 42'' flat screen above my fireplace. Will brick clip fasteners work? If not, what will?

I don't know what a brick clip is. The usual approach is to get an anchor plug that is made for a solid wall (rawl plug, plastic anchor, or tamp in), drill the corresponding hole in the brick or mortar, and put in the screws to attach them. When you get the wall brackets their instruction sheet can provide the details.
