those little change boxes next to the cash register are handy... too handy.

do you leave a penny if you get one?
do you take a penny if you need one? three? six?
do you do both so you don't have to carry pennies?

I'm both when the situation arises. To hedge my bets,I always put 4 pennies in my pocket when I leave in the morning to protect against the $8.02 purchase. I must admit I feel like the proverbial old lady who searches her purse for exact change while standing in line. Sometimes I must burrow through other items to retrieve the pennies, only to pull out one of the pennies and pocket lint for the $8.02 purchase. Then I feel my fixation with this has gone too far.

I actually do all of these...
I will take a penny if need be, I will leave a penny if I have one and I also pick up pennies on the ground and use them...
I will indeed leave pennies in the tray for others to use as well...

If I get pennies back and there is a little thing for them, I always put them in there. I think I only took a penny once or twice. Usually stores are ok with being a few cents off.

I will occasionally leave a couple of pennies or if I am short the cashier will dig them out for me. I do pick them off the floor all the time. After all if I can get 11 miles of pennies I will have a million dollars. Mmm

I'm both.

I take a penny if I need one. It drives me crazy when people ahead of me in line dig through everything, "No wait, I've got it! I know I have the right change...right here...somewhere...Hmmm, that's not it...no, let me see...wait just a minute..."

I leave my extra pennies, just to make up for the other ones I've taken, other times.

And, yes, sometimes I leave pennies because I always seem to have too many of them, and my change jar is far away, at home :-))

I don't take a penny or leave a penny. I don't carry change, I leave the change I get in my truck. Then when I get alot of change I roll it and bring it to the bank.

I am usually a giver only.....I never spend change so I normally leave all my loose change (except quarters) in the penny jar at stores.

I leave pennies because I know that someday I may need one and then I'll hope it will be there.
