I took my daughter to a modeling thing. I really wanted her to do it. It was in Michigan. It's called Highlite. They told us we dont have to pay anything. She did an interview and the next day they called her and said she got the job. They told us we had to come in and have her pictures taken. We got all that done, and then they asked us to pay 300 dollars up front. We waited a year, and bull she didnt even get a job. They didnt call her back. How do I get my money back?
Please Help

I guess if you felt you needed to do something then Call Judge Judy...

But honestly, I don't think you can do anything your money is long gone. This sort of thing happens all the time...

I say if a company REALLY wants your child or you for modeling then they will pay for the photos upfront and then you'll know your not being scammed!

You can't...the first rule of modeling agencies is if they ask for money, then they are not a true modeling agency.

Anyone that I have never seen interviewed on the subject, Tyra Banks, Christy Brinkley, Eileen Ford, Cheryl Tiegs, Kathy Ireland...they will all tell you, even when they were brand-new in their career....they didn't pay anything.

Eileen Ford has said several times that ANY girl can be seen at her studio and no portfolio is necessary....she has even hired girls off of polaroid shots.

When the agency told you that you wouldn't have to pay, and then asked for money, that is when you should have stopped.

Report them to your attorney general. Go online or call. They are very helpful. It's bad enough to be scammed but it's bad when they hurt kids. . .Also report them to your Better Business Bureau and the BBB in their area and any place else that will listen. You can call a TV station and see if they will give you publicity and tell others your story so at least you can stop the company from scamming others. You will have signed something that lets the company wriggle out and they will throw it in your face. It's still a scam. Go get 'em!

If you waited a year, your money is probably gone. Furthermore, it's probably not enough money to make it worthwhile to try to track someone down and take them to small claims court. By now, they've probably taken as much money as they could get and have fled town or have been sued/jailed/etc.

PS: Your daughter is special. You don't need her to be a model to know that she is beautiful. Let her grow up without being judged and evaluated any more than is necessary. Maybe watch "Little Miss Sunshine"... it's a great movie..

Sorry. They performed a service (take your photos).

You can file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau.
Call your local congressman.
