Can you prove that the record is tainted? If not, go to hell or kill yourself.....

I don't think they're kissing anyone's ***. You might have noticed the influx of anti-steroid commericals during games where Bonds is playing on ESPN. It's just that ESPN's journalists are professional enough not to assume that he's guilty, even though he most likely is guilty of using. ESPN won't outright disrespect Bonds and his home run record until he is proven guilty in court or admits to taking steroids, then you know Barry Bonds will not be a condoned figure in the world of sports and within the reaches of ESPN. The newspapers and critics can talk all they want about how bonds is a bad guy, but lets face it, the moment of Bonds breaking the home run record is a big deal and ESPN took it upon themselves to capture it in a respectful way. We all know that ESPN knows that he takes steroids, but ESPN wasn't going to just not broadcast Bonds hitting 756, otherwise some network news channell would have had the pleasure of eating up all those tasty ratings.

look sure ESPNs showing alot about bonds because this is probly the best record a hitter can hold and the record isnt tainted just because he used steroids 5 years ago by that time he still had 550 home runs so its not tainted so u just dont no anything about baseball and you are just being a stuborn little prick because bonds is 100 times better then ur team or mabey even YOU

well, if you're talking about sportscenter ... they don't have much of a choice, they just report facts for the most part ... the small commentary segments of the show do not as much.

if you watch talk shows, such as Cold Pizza (1st and 10), Around the Horn, PTI, etc ... then they don't do that as much ... same with talk radio ... and, for that matter, if you go to espn.com and look at their commentary articles (and especially page 2), they debate his legacy ... so, espn does not only glorify barry ... they just have no other choice in some cases in which they have to report the news ... and since the record as of right now is debatable, they can't do that on sportscenter

B/c it's their job to report it. He broke the record so it's time to move on with life. They are more important things going on in this world anyway.
